We built this for ourselves first.
Veloque is made by an exporting business, not a software company that read about exporting. Every calculator in it started as a spreadsheet we ran real shipments on — badly, for several years.
From a workbook nobody else could read.
The costing lived in one workbook. Thirty tabs, a pile of formulas, and one person who understood the freight column. Every quote meant reopening it, every rate risked being stale, and the profit was only truly known after the bank had taken its cut.
The classification was worse. A code copied from an old shipping bill, or from a competitor’s invoice, or from a search result. Right most of the time is a poor standard when being wrong means a container sitting at a port accruing demurrage.
Import taxes in particular are unforgiving. One surcharge is charged on all the duties added together, not just the main one — and getting that wrong makes every import look cheaper than it is.
So we rebuilt it: the pricing as real software that checks what you type, the codes as an AI that shows its working and admits when it is not sure, and the rules per route rather than per country. Then we noticed the same problem exists for anyone shipping anything, anywhere — and stopped building it only for ourselves.
Veloque still runs our own shipments. That is the only quality bar we trust.
Four rules the product is built on.
Say the confidence out loud
An AI answer with a rating you can act on beats a confident answer you have to double-check anyway.
Show the build-up, not the total
Every figure is traceable to the line it came from. A number you cannot explain to your buyer is worthless.
Never pretend to be the authority
We produce working numbers. Customs assesses. We say so on every page rather than burying it in terms.
Price it so a first-timer can start
The people who most need this are the ones who can least afford enterprise software. That shapes the pricing page.
What we will not do.
Pretend AI replaces your customs agent
The AI gives you a fast, well-argued first answer. A licensed customs agent still files your paperwork, and customs still has the last word. Anyone selling you certainty here is selling you a liability.
Quote a number we cannot show our working for
Every figure comes with the build-up that produced it. If you cannot audit a number, you should not put it in a contract.
Hide what a feature costs to run
AI answers cost real money. We say exactly what spends a Credit (one AI answer) and what does not — the calculators are unlimited because they use no AI at all.
Three people, one team.
Small enough that the person who answers your email is the person who wrote the calculator.

Talk to a person, not a queue.
Questions about a route, a code you are unsure of, or whether we cover your country — write to us and someone who actually ships things replies. Most messages get a reply the same or the next working day, and the times in our escalation policy are the slowest we let anything sit.

Invoices for Veloque are raised by Chetty Exports Private Limited with GST at 18% on Indian rupee charges.
Two things we get asked a lot: every number here is an estimate, so check it with customs at both ends before it goes on a form — and wherever a plan includes a calculator it is unlimited, so you cannot run out of runs.
Three days of everything, free.
A card is required to start the trial, but nothing is charged during it. Product codes and live rates need no account at all.
